Do you Wearing Detroit Lions' Jerseys to Supports Your Team

The Detroit Lions were founded in 1929 in Portsmouth, Ohio, as the Portsmouth Spartans. In 1930 they joined the NFL. Since Portsmouth was then the smallest NFL city, the team couldn't survive there, so they moved to Detroit in 1934, after the change in ownership. Lions have won four NFL championships, the last one in 1957, and hold the record for the second longest period without a title in NFL. They also hold the record of longest loosing streak, having lost 19 consecutive games. Lions are the only team in NFL who lost all games in a single season, as they scored 0-16 in 2008. Detroit Lions have certainly seen better days, but hopefully, they will manage to recover and bring the pride back again to their home grounds, the Ford Field. Detroit Lions jerseys and the history that comes along with it will be explain in the next few paragraphs.
Detroit's uniforms are today almost the same as their original ones. They wear blue or white jersey with silver pants. The helmet is silver with black, white and blues stripe and Lion's logo on the side. The logo has been redesigned in 2008, adding fangs to the lion. In 1994, NFL's 75th anniversary, Lions wore their throwback jersey, similar to the one they had in 1935 championship season. They didn't have TV numbers on shoulders and the helmet was without a logo, since the helmets in 1935 were made of leather and didn't have any print on them.
Lion's blue is called "Honolulu blues" as it supposedly reminds of the color of the waves off Hawaii coast. The color was chosen by Cy Huston, who served as Lion's first vice president and general manager. Apparently, he was told that this particular shade of blue matches the silver pants. In 2003 team added black as one of their colors. The lion logo and jerseys received the black outline, and the new alternate jersey was introduced, black with blue stripes around the sleeves and blue numbers. Helmet mask was also changed form blue to black.
Alternate jersey, resembling the one they had in 1950s was worn in Thanksgiving Day matches in 2001-2004, as a part of league wide policy, where NFL recommended the teams to wear their alternate uniforms on Thanksgiving Day games. In April 2009, Lions introduced the new uniform design, featuring redesigned logo and more modern font.
Detroit Lion's mascot, Roary, is one of the most adventurous mascots in the league. He has been seen water skiing, tubing down the ski hill and riding a mechanical bull. Even with all of this, Roary still finds the time to entertain the fans in Lion's den and cheerleading for his team.
His favorite food is "barbequed bear and Viking venison with melted cheeseheads on top" and his shoes are bigger than Shaq's, according to his official bio on Lion's web site. Roary wears jersey number 1. With all the changes Lions introduced lately, the fan's hopes are getting high for the upcoming season. Hopefully, the team won't let them down and will make them proud again, as in the glory days. But will the blue Detroit Lions jersey become the terrifying sight for their opponents, only time will tell.

Top 9 Mini Dresses For You

A little more than a hundred years the black dress, dark and depressing. This is the traditional dress of mourning for widows in mourning for their men to the dead not sure Come Knocking late into the night. Fortunately, the great Coco Chanel had a vision, and in 1926 alone saved the morbid black dress repute. It has since been re-invented in the LBD, little black dress. The rest we can say is, the history of fashion. Here is a look at the top 10 most memorable LBDs of all time.
1. Who would've though that a star would be caught dead wearing something that was originally intended for recycling? Well, apparently it could happen, just like the black bandage dress Cindy Crawford wore to the 100th Anniversary of Vogue back in 1993. Since it was created by Herve Leger in 1985, the dress has made numerous comebacks.
2. Of course, you can't have a list of LBDs without Victoria Beckham in it. From her Spice Girls days to her Mrs. Beckham fame, it seems like Posh can't be seen without one for very long. Who can miss the be-ribboned Giambattista Valli frock that she wore to the TomKat wedding in 2006? Even the Philip Treacy hat is unforgettable.
3. Very few people can pull off a dress that looks like something you catch fish with, but Gwyneth Paltrow did at the 2008 premiere of Iron Man in Rome. Gwyneth stunned spectators when she arrived at the red carpet wearing a peculiarly deceptive Jean Paul Gaultier creation. At first look, it looked scandalously transparent - a surprise, considering it's the ever demure Ms. Paltrow.
4. Even before she became THE Halle Berry, Halle Berry already had a style of her own. She turned heads back in the 1992 Soap Opera Digest Awards when she waltzed right in donning a strapless, poufy, full-skirted LBD that looked suspiciously like a Karl Lagerfield creation. She might have been almost unknown then, but she had the press scrambling for pictures!6. If there's one person who's often seen in little black dresses aplenty, it's Reese Witherspoon. Seen promoting her film Rendition at the Toronto Film Festival in a form-fitting strapless Jean Paul Gaultier creation, Reese looked fabulously sleek and smoldering. Accessorized with diamonds aplenty, Christian Louboutin peep-toe pumps, and squeeze, Jake Gyllenhaal the look is nothing short of historical.
5. Of course, who can forget the black lace cocktail dress immortalized by Julia Roberts in the fairy tale to end all fairy tales, Pretty Woman? It's a classic. Enough said.
6. At first glance, it looked like no more than a piece of black fabric held together by a few giant safety pins. That was Elizabeth Hurley's Versace outfit at the 1994 premiere of Four Weddings and a Funeral. That black dress was literally little, and though it was severely criticized back then, it certainly was unforgettable. It paved the way for the short-lived and the now-defunct giant safety pin trend (does anybody still remember that?).
7. Devilish - that's what the LBD Nicole Kidman wore to the 2005 Tribeca Film Festival is. With a simple bodice, gorgeous diamond-studded straps, and a backside that teases, the Azzaro creation is no less than stunning!
8. It's hard to put a list together without Kirsten Dunst making an appearance. In this case, who can forget the oh-so feminine Rodarte number that she wore at Spider-Man 3's 2007 London premiere? It was almost eerie how the LBD contrasted with her naturally pale skin, completing a look that was romantic, ethereal, and unbelievably fresh.
9. And finally, who can forget Audrey Hepburn's legendary little black dress from 1961's Breakfast at Tiffany's? Sold for £410,000 in a 2006 auction, this Givenchy LBD is, hands down, a star in its own right!
Without a doubt, LBDs are forever. And we owe it all to a woman named Coco.
